I Giardini La Mortella

I Giardini La Mortella

“I Giardini La Mortella”, created starting from 1958 by the will of Lady Susana Walton, wife of the English composer Sir William Walton, are located on the promontory of Zaro. They owe their name to the land where they are located, called Le Mortelle.

Today, La Mortella, built over 50 years, is one of the most beautiful private gardens in Europe. It is divided into two areas: the Valley Garden, designed from 1956 by Russell Page, and the Hill Garden, designed and developed by Mrs. Walton starting from 1983, the year of the master’s passing.

The Gardens also host several concerts where young musicians from national and foreign music schools perform.
